In this Privacy Policy “Personal Information” means personally identifiable information about you or information that would allow someone to identify or contact you.
Personal Information excludes anonymized or aggregate data.
HOW THIS PRIVACY POLICY WORKS
This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information collected through the Sites. By accessing or using the Sites, you confirm to us your consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and in our terms of service.

CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT, WHY WE COLLECT IT, AND HOW WE USE IT
We may collect data about you by you providing the data directly to us (for example by filling in forms on the Sites, registering for a service, or by sending us emails).

Communication data includes any communication you send to us whether that be through the contact form on our website, through email, text, social media messaging, social media posting or any other communication you send us. We process this data to communicate with you, for record keeping and for the establishment, pursuance, or defense of legal claims.
Usage Data. We may also automatically collect certain information about your access to and usage of the Sites or our services (“Usage Information”). We collect such information through the device you use to access and use the Sites. We also collect Usage Information by use of cookies and other tracking technology (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”). We process this data to enable you to partake in our promotions such as competitions, prize draws, and free give-aways, to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you and measure or understand the effectiveness of this advertising.
We may process your Personal Information without your knowledge or consent where this is required or permitted by law.
HOW WE USE TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES, LIKE COOKIES
Legal Adjacency and its third-party vendors (including Google Analytics, which provides other privacy notices here) may use Tracking Technologies, such as cookies and pixel tags, to collect Usage Information.
“Cookies” are small files saved onto your device or browser through your web browser that allows us to collect certain Usage Information, and “pixel tags” are tiny graphics with unique identifiers embedded on the Sites that allow us to collect certain Usage Information.
Tracking Technologies do not, by themselves, collect Personal Information. AGGREGATE INFORMATION

No Personal Information is shared with these advertising networks, but the information we share with those advertising networks might be combined with other information about you that those networks may have collected from other sources. EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES
Pages on the site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, and so on.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

SHARING INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES
Sometimes, Legal Adjacency relies on third parties to provide us with certain services at our request and under our instructions. These third parties include cloud hosting services, web design services, data analytics services, information technology services, customer relationship management services, communications platforms and related analytics services, marketing automation, payment processing, and other similar technology infrastructure or business operations services providers.
Where third parties perform services for us, we may share Personal Information, Usage Information, Aggregate Information, or other information collected consistent with this Privacy Policy with those third parties, but only as necessary for such third parties to provide us with the requested services and only in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
In addition, we may share information we collect with other third parties, but only in these circumstances:

(ii) to enforce this Privacy Policy, our terms of service, or any other legal or contractual rights;

INFORMATION SECURITY
We have put in place security measures to prevent your Personal Information from accidentally being lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorization. We also allow access to your Personal Information only to those employees and partners who have a business need to know such data. They will only process your Personal Information on our instruction, and they must keep it confidential.
We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected Personal Information breach and will notify you and any regulator of a breach if we are legally required to.
We cannot guarantee the absolute security of the Sites or systems, and we therefore do not warrant that your safeguards will prevent the loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction of the information we collect.

The Sites cannot respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from web browsers or devices.
DATA RETENTION
We will only retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
When deciding what the correct time is to keep the data for, we look at its amount, nature, and sensitivity, potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the processing purposes, if these can be achieved by other means and legal requirements.
Sometimes we may anonymize your Personal Information for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Under data protection laws you have rights in relation to your Personal Information that include the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, to object to processing, to portability of data and (where the lawful ground of processing is consent) to withdraw consent.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your Personal Information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is unfounded, repetitive, or excessive or refuse to comply with your request.
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your Personal Information (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that Personal Information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Sometimes it may take us longer than a month if your request is complex or you have made several requests. Here, we will notify you.
LOCATION AND TRANSMISSION OF DATA
Legal Adjacency is a corporation established in Canada. By providing Personal Information to us, you acknowledge and agree that your Personal Information may be transferred to and stored servers in Canada, which may be located outside the country or other governmental jurisdiction in which you reside.
You also consent to your Personal Information and any related data being transmitted outside of Canada, even when transmitted between destinations within Canada. Personal information and data located or transmitted outside of Canada will be subject to the laws of other jurisdictions.
